I've spent more than twenty years working with animals. Long before I opened Unleashed Canine, I worked in veterinary care and trained horses, and that background shaped how I read and handle every animal in front of me. Grooming came next: I groomed dogs for about fourteen years before I decided to take things further. Around that time, dog sports pulled me into a whole new side of working with dogs, and I fell in love with training, with behavior, and with what dogs are capable of when you communicate with them the right way.
Training became a huge part of the business, and Unleashed Canine grew into the full-service home for Nederland dogs it is today. I keep everything personal and lower-volume on purpose, so every dog gets a groom, stay, or training plan built around what they actually need. We want owners to feel like they're leaving their dog with family, somewhere that feels more like a second home than a facility.
Over twenty years in professional animal care, from veterinary work and training horses to fourteen years of dog grooming, plus years of training and behavior work. Certified in obedience training (Dogma Academy) and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
A professional groomer since 2009, Michelle turned a side job into a true passion. She loves getting to know each dog's personality, and grooming means more to her than looks: it's making every dog feel comfortable, cared for, and loved, treated as if they were her own.
Grooming professionally for almost five years, Katelyn works with every breed, size, coat, and age, from a puppy's first groom to senior dogs who need extra patience. She makes each visit as comfortable and positive as possible, and loves getting to know each dog's individual needs.
Assists with training and oversees day-to-day care of our boarding and daycare dogs. GoodPup Dog Trainer Certified.
